Disassembling high-voltage Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries is a dangerous, manual process that creates a bottleneck for the circular economy. To solve this challenge, the Eureka-funded Project LAMBDA brought together three partners—AICA, Circu Li-ion, and the Swiss Battery Technology Center (SBTC)—to teach an industrial robot how to perform this complex task with a human-like sense of touch.

AICA, a Swiss innovator transforming industrial automation with AI-powered force adaptation technology, has secured a strategic investment led by Momenta, the leading venture capital firm specializing in Industrial Impact®. This investment, made through Momenta’s Industry 5.0 Fund, will propel AICA’s global expansion and enhance its AI-driven automation capabilities. Existing investors Spicehaus, HTGF, and Schaeffler have reaffirmed their confidence in AICA by participating in this round, which was also joined by Zürcher Kantonalbank.

Since 2019, AICA has been focused on developing intuitive robotics software that enables engineers to automate complex robotics tasks. On October 10th 2024, we reach a major milestone: the first public release of the AICA System!
