HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. The Smart Skill records the demonstration at a high frequency.

2. An ML algorithm fits a generalized motion model to the data. The model is optimized to capture path features while rejecting noise.

3. The learned motion model is saved in a local database.

4. A program node is generated that follows the learned motion.

5. The motion can be followed with a force-compliant controller.

LEARNED MOTIONS BECOME FLEXIBLE PROGRAM NODES

Use and reuse a learned motion anywhere within a program 

Adjust the LfD program node parameters to:

  • Modify the start or end position

  • Scale the motion duration to be faster or slower

  • Change the stiffness or strength of the path following
